Our story
For fifty years, families from Roslyn, Manhasset, Port Washington, Great Neck and Glen Cove have trusted this practice with their teeth, and then with their children’s. Enduring relationships are how a practice earns the right to teach a patient a lifetime of dental health.
Now five minutes down the road, at 2 Seaview Boulevard. The same dentists, in a new home.

Meet the dentists
Hospital-trained, in private practice.
Our dentists trained in hospital residencies and still hold hospital appointments. Dr. Sheehan has led the Division of Dentistry and Oral Surgery at St. Francis Hospital for over twenty years, and the practice keeps an office there to this day.

Four things patients ask about most.
Dental Implants
Titanium, with a coating that encourages the bone to grow around it. Once it integrates, it is restored with a porcelain crown, without crowning the teeth either side the way a bridge would.
Invisalign
A series of clear aligners in place of braces. Before treatment starts, you and the doctor view a computer simulation of your own teeth moving, stage by stage.
BriteSmile Whitening
In the office, and short enough to fit into an extended lunch hour. Take-home trays are there as an alternative or a top-up. No more often than every six months.
Porcelain Veneers
Thin ceramic shells bonded to the front of the teeth, for gaps, stains, and teeth that are badly shaped or crooked.

- 3M Lava digital impressionsA chairside scanner wand instead of the putty. It captures the prepared teeth in seconds and sends them to the laboratory electronically.
- Rotary endodonticsRoot canals performed with an electric handpiece and special files, which makes the treatment faster and more efficient.

Which insurance plans do you take?
Our dentists are participating providers with CIGNA PPO (Radius and Core Network), the CIGNA Plus Savings Discount Dental Plan, MetLife PPO, Delta Dental PPO (Premier Network), United Concordia (Preferred Elite Network) and the DeCare Network. Please call for details of which doctors participate in which network. Other PPO plans are out of network: you pay our usual fee in full, and the insurer reimburses you directly. We do not accept Medicaid, capitation plans, HMOs or DMOs.
You moved. Where is the new office?
2 Seaview Blvd, Suite 201, Port Washington, NY 11050, about five minutes from our original location. From the LIE, take exit 39 to Glen Cove Road and merge onto Powerhouse Road. Turn right onto Roslyn Road and continue to Main Street, then left onto Old Northern Blvd for 0.2 miles. Continue onto West Shore Road, go through three traffic lights, and turn left onto Seaview Blvd. The office is on the left-hand side.
Do you still see patients at St. Francis Hospital?
Yes. Our hospital office is at 100 Port Washington Blvd., Roslyn, open Wednesdays 8 am to 4 pm and Fridays 8 am to 2 pm. Call it directly on (516) 627-3813.
Can I fill in the new patient forms before I arrive?
Yes. The new patient forms are a PDF you can print and fill in at home, for both the Seaview Boulevard office and the St. Francis office.
I hate having impressions taken. Is there another way?
Usually. Instead of the putty, a chairside 3M Lava scanner takes the impression with a small wand, like a miniature video camera, and the images go to the dental laboratory electronically.
How often can I whiten my teeth?
Whitening is not recommended more often than every six months. You can choose BriteSmile in the office, take-home trays, or both.
